A readable rig, without an account
A forum signature should let another listener understand your setup at a glance. It should not require decoding a paragraph of model numbers, purchase dates and enthusiastic punctuation. This free audio forum signature generator turns up to six components into a simple text line, in the order you enter them. Add a system name, identify each component and copy the result. No account is needed.
The example is a desk system: WiiM Ultra, Topping D90, Topping A90 and Focal Clear. Those are illustrative components, not a recommendation to buy that combination. Replace them with your own gear or remove a row you do not use. The role labels help you organise the chain; the copied line keeps just the brand and model so it remains compact.
Put the signal in a sensible order
Write the chain from the music source towards the thing that makes sound. A digital headphone system might run from streamer to DAC to headphone amplifier to headphones. An integrated device can cover several jobs, so list a combined DAC/amp once rather than pretending it is two boxes. An analogue source follows a different path and does not need a DAC added for the sake of symmetry.
The tool preserves your chosen order and lets you move components up or down. That matters when you add an item in the middle of an existing setup. Keep alternate systems separate: a desk rig and a living-room system are usually clearer as two lines than one heroic chain that appears to connect your headphones to your loudspeakers.
Prefer exact names to impressive abbreviations
Use the model name another reader can recognise or search. “D90” may be enough in a community that knows the brand, but “Topping D90” travels better between forums. If a revision changes the product materially, include it in the model field. Avoid adding every specification unless it answers a question the discussion is actually about.
For cables and accessories, exercise restraint. A useful signature identifies the listening path. It need not include the USB cable, router, shelving and mains socket unless one is relevant to the conversation. The six-component limit is a nudge towards readability, not an assertion that larger systems are impossible.
Plain text travels well
The generator produces a plain text line with arrows between components. Copy it into a forum signature, a discussion post or a message. Each community has its own length and formatting restrictions; check the preview before saving. If a forum does not display the arrow character correctly, replace it with a simple greater-than symbol. No HTML or BBCode is required by this tool.
The copied text contains only the system name, brands and models you enter. It does not include prices, serial numbers or listening notes. Keep those details out of public signatures unless you have a reason to share them. This generator runs in your browser and does not save the demo. Refreshing the page starts again with the example.
Or get a live link that updates itself when your system changes.
Plain text has one unavoidable weakness: it stays exactly as you pasted it. When you swap an amplifier, each old signature needs updating. A SoundFolio public system link gives you one place to maintain the current chain, with version history behind it. Sharing is optional, and values and notes remain hidden unless you enable them.
Use the free generator when you simply want a tidy line today. If your system changes often, build the real chain in SoundFolio and share its link alongside the text. Other listeners can see the current arrangement without you conducting a small administrative tour of every forum you joined in 2014. Your signature should describe the system you own, not the system your profile remembers.
